Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is recruiting for an established Northampton engineering firm seeking time-served CNC Turners and CNC Millers (Setter/Operators) to join a busy machining team.

The successful candidates will work on a varied range of components and materials, including stainless steels and specialist alloys, with a 38-hour week and overtime when required. Ongoing training and a stable employer provide long-term prospects for skilled machinists.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC machining experience as a Turner or Miller.
• Experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Fanuc control experience.
• The ability to program CNC machines.
• Excellent ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings – essential
• Experience working with materials such as 316, 304, Duplex, Titanium and Hastelloy
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to inspect their own work
• A quality-focused approach and pride in their workmanship
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a busy engineering team

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC Turning or Milling machinery.
• Programming using Fanuc controls.
• Producing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Reading and interpreting 2D engineering drawings.
• Working with a wide range of materials, including stainless steels and specialist alloys.
• Carrying out their own inspections and quality checks.
• Measuring components accurately and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Making adjustments to ensure components meet specification.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
