Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd. seeks an experienced CNC Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator to manage the full machining process on 3-axis lathes with live tooling. You will program online and offline using FANUC controls, read engineering drawings, select tooling and offsets, and inspect parts to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator.
• Experience with 3-axis lathes with live tooling.
• Strong FANUC online/offline programming experience.

• Competent with precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of tooling, speeds and feeds.
• Experience in low-volume, high-value manufacturing.
• CAMWorks or Fusion experience.

Job description

The Role

• You will be responsible for the complete machining process, from programming and setting through to operation and inspection.
• Working with a 3-axis CNC lathe with live tooling, you will produce one-off and small-batch components to demanding specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate 3-axis CNC lathes with live tooling.
• Programme both online and offline using FANUC controls.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, work holding, speeds and feeds.
• Set tools, offsets and work coordinates.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
• Make programme and tooling adjustments where required.
• Work with a range of engineering materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and machine/tooling care.
• Work closely with engineers and workshop colleagues to resolve manufacturing challenges.

About You

• The successful candidate will have proven experience as a CNC Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator, with a strong understanding of CNC turning and precision machining.
• Proven CNC turning experience.
• Experience with 3-axis lathes incorporating live tooling.
• Strong online and offline FANUC programming experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight engineering tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds and feeds.
• Competent with precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• CAMWorks or Fusion experience.
• Background in automotive, motorsport, aerospace or specialist engineering.
• Experience in low-volume, high-value manufacturing.
• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification.
