Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants seeks an experienced CNC Trainer in Whitstable to deliver practical training for apprentices and staff. You will coach on Nakamura and Citizen lathes, assess competency, and maintain skills matrices while promoting quality, safety and efficiency across the machine shop.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC lathe setting and operating experience within precision engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Nakamura and Citizen CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
• Excellent understanding of machining processes, tooling and quality standards.
• Strong communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical CNC training programmes for apprentices and employees.
• Provide hands-on training on Nakamura and Citizen CNC lathes.
• Assess employee competency and identify development needs.
• Maintain training plans, records and skills matrices.
• Support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
• Work with production teams to identify skills gaps.
• Train employees in machine setting and operation techniques.
• Deliver training on inspection methods and measuring equipment.
• Promote quality standards and traceability requirements.
• Coach staff on tooling, machine optimisation and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Assist in developing training materials and work instructions.
• Support internal and external audits relating to training and competency.
