Job summary

M-Tec Engineering Solutions in Shropshire is seeking a skilled CNC Technician to strengthen our manufacturing engineering team. You will run CNC machines, support production daily and ensure tool life, tooling changes and machine diagnostics are managed to target performance.

The role emphasizes TPM, 5S, and safe operation; you will train colleagues, maintain process documentation and contribute to process improvements across the department.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or formal CNC qualification.
• Proven experience with CNC machine setting and operation.

Responsibilities

• Support production on a daily basis.
• Run CNC machines and manage machine performance, fault finding and diagnostics.
• Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and machining position to casting.
• Change tools, track tool life, investigate tool breakages.
• Monitor part quality, adjust offsets and improve process capability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and assist in the generation of SWI’s.
• Set procedures and standards.
• Drive TPM and 5S.
• Train, mentor and guide others on how to operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Promote the company’s HSE policies across the department and plant.

CNC Technician

A recognised high volume manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their Engineering department with the appointment of a CNC Technician.

Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the CNC Technician will be responsible for:

• Support production on a daily basis.
• Running CNC machines and all aspects of machine performance, fault finding and diagnostics.
• Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and machining position to casting.
• Change tools, track tool life, investigate tool breakages.
• Monitor part quality, adjust offsets and improve process capability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and assist in the generation of SWI’s.
• Set procedures and standards.
• Drive TPM and 5S.
• Train, mentor and guide others on how to operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Other related duties as determined by the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers.
• Promote the company's HSE policies across the department and plant.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Apprenticeship or formal qualification.
• Proven experience in CNC machine setting.
