Magna is seeking a skilled CNC Setter to join its Cosma International team in the UK. The role focuses on high-speed 5-axis machining of aluminium diecast components, with responsibilities spanning tool changes, quality checks and process optimization.
You will train and mentor others, while coordinating with Production, Quality and Maintenance to keep operations efficient and compliant with HSE standards. This is a permanent, on-site position.

This position requires a time served CNC Setter with a proven track record and experience in machining aluminium diecast components on high speed 5 axis machines. Reporting directly to the CNC Senior Setter and with direct support to the Production Supervisor on the shift, the CNC Tech/process Engineer is required to be able to work off their own initiative whilst also liaising with Production, Quality and Maintenance to respond to any issues that affect CNC operation. The CNC Technical Engineer is responsible for proving new programs, commissioning new fixtures and cutting tools. Monitoring part quality and dimensional reports to maintain optimum machining conditions. The CNC Technical Engineer will be responsible for the training and development of the setter/operators across the shift pattern and control standards and safe working practices. Performing machining troubleshooting and TPMs are also key tasks for this role.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to prioritise tasks against demand. Good problem-solving skills with a logical approach. Able to maintain focus on the wide range of challenges that arise via the generation of lists/action trackers to working from notes. Confidence to challenge existing working practices and raise the standard. Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goals Work independently to deliver a sustainable process Good communicator both written and verbal Ability to work under pressure Proactive in approach with a “can do attitude” Flexibility. Willingness to attend off-site training courses as required and offset working hours to facilitate training and face to face communications when necessary.

Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing.
