Job summary

AFT Fluorotec Ltd in Welwyn Garden City is expanding its sliding head cell and seeks an operator/setter/programmer with Swiss-type lathe experience. The role focuses on precision components, including PTFE and engineering plastics, on a growing cell with real development potential.

You'll set, operate and program sliding head machines, read drawings, perform first-off and in-process inspection, and help maintain AS9100D quality records. On-site, full-time with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Experience setting or programming sliding head (Swiss-type) machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings accurately.
• Plastics machining experience is advantageous.
• Aerospace/AS9100D familiarity is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and program sliding head machines to tight tolerances.
• Work from engineering drawings and perform first-off and in-process inspection.
• Optimize cycle times and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain quality records in line with AS9100D standards.
