Job description

We are currently recruiting for a CNC setter operator on a permanent basis for a client based in Wokingham. Ideally, candidates will have experience with CNC Milling (3 axis) and be open to being trained on special purpose 5 axis CNC machinery. However, candidates with a general CNC background and a desire to progress their career are also encouraged to apply. Full training will be provided, offering an excellent opportunity to expand your engineering knowledge and experience within a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent work experience (minimum 3 years machining).
• At least three years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to use inspection equipment and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
• Ability to maintain product specifications.
• Proficiency in inspecting products using appropriate measuring devices.
• Ability to make machine adjustments and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor product quality during manufacturing.
• Ability to recognize and diagnose machine sounds indicating problems.
• Full knowledge of tooling, routine maintenance, and lubrication of machinery.

Working Hours and Salary:

Nightshift (22:00) Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Starting salary from GBP44,000 per annum. Our client offers an excellent training program that could lead to a GBP10k salary increase within 3 years and career development as an engineer (with annual increases based on performance).
