Job summary

SJR Partners in Preston is seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a busy precision engineering environment. You will set and operate CNC machines, producing high-quality components from drawings with tight aerospace-level tolerances.

The role focuses on aluminium, with some titanium and steel, requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safe practices in a team-driven setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC experience preferred.
• Experience setting and operating Mazak, DMG or Hurco machines.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Aerospace or precision engineering background is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components.
• Producing components from engineering drawings.
• Setting tooling, fixtures and machine offsets.
• Checking components throughout the machining process.
• Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Machining predominantly aluminium, alongside titanium and steel.
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring components meet specification.
• Making adjustments to tooling, offsets and programmes where required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working efficiently to meet production requirements.
