Location: Gloucester
Salary: GBP35,000 including shift allowance
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm (week 1 and week 2)

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a CNC Setter/Operator on a permanent basis due to growth to cover their Gloucester branch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines and/or lathes.
• Machining a range of plastic components supporting a variety of industries.
• Download the required programme from the CAD/CAM system, checking that the drawing issue is correct to the route card information.
• Locate and identify the correct material for the job, vacuum or clamp in place and set the datums required for the machine.
• Locate and set all tooling required, including all tool offsets.
• Ensure all parts are measured correctly using company calibrated equipment.
• Ensure all route card information is completed, i.e. time allocated, operator stamp, quantity made and first off inspection.
• Ensure all company procedures are followed at all times, including completing a scrap form if there are con-conforming parts. Ensuring that the housekeeping of the manufacturing area has been done in line with company policy.
• Follow all Health & Safety requirements and always using the appropriate PPE.
• Any ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of CNC turning operations, tooling, and setups.
• Excellent communication skills, must be able to communicate at all levels.
• Calm professional manner, but must have a good sense of humour.
• Positive "can do" attitude with a good attention to detail.
• Able to work extended and/or unsocial hours to the full requirement of the role.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
