Job Opportunity: CNC Setter/Operator

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £14 - £16/hr

Hours: 38.5 hours/week

• Monday - Thursday: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (including 30-minute lunch)
• Friday: 7:00 am to 1:30 pm
• Overtime (voluntary): 1.33x weekdays, 1.50x Saturday

About the Employer

Our client is a leading provider of specialist fastener and bolting solutions, equipped with excellent working conditions and state-of-the-art machinery.

Role Responsibilities

1. Setting and operating 2-axis FANUC-controlled lathes
2. Using touch probes and cut/measure techniques
3. Optimizing programs to minimize cycle times
4. Running multiple machines simultaneously
5. Performing TPM tasks and engaging in continuous improvement
6. Inspecting parts for quality using micrometers, Vernier gauges, and other measuring tools
7. Working from engineering drawings and adhering to international standards

Job Requirements

1. Experience with FANUC controls is essential
2. Experience with lathes is essential
3. Good understanding of machining and measuring threads of various forms
4. Ability to interpret engineering drawings in both metric and imperial units
5. Ability to work independently and plan tasks effectively
6. Attention to detail and reliability
