Job summary

NMB Minebea in Lincoln is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate turning, milling and grinding cells, delivering precision components for aerospace customers. You will ensure smooth machine operation, meet strict quality standards and contribute to OTIF targets.

Working in a collaborative team, you will self-inspect your work, follow procedures, and participate in 5S improvements while gaining cross-training across cells and supporting related assembly tasks as needed.

CNC Machinist Turning/Milling/Grinding

What Youll Be Doing as CNC Machinist:

• Ensuring the smooth, efficient running of CNC machines
• Producing components that consistently meet strict quality standards
• Delivering work On Time In Full (OTIF)
• Carrying out self-inspection and sanctioning of your own work
• Working across turning, milling, and grinding operations (cell-dependent)
• Supporting excellent workplace organisation and 5S standards
• Gaining full cross-training across all cell disciplines
• Occasionally assisting with assembly, pinning, or non-machinery tasks

What Were Looking for as CNC Machinist:

Essential:

• Previous experience in CNC turning or milling or grinding
• Confident using standard measuring equipment
• Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• A reliable, team-focused attitude with a commitment to quality
• Comfortable following procedures and working to targets

Desirable:

• NVQ in Engineering Manufacture (or equivalent) / Advanced Apprenticeship
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C or above)
• Computer literacy

Shift Pattern:

• A Shift:
  • MonThu: 6:00am 1:35pm
  • Fri: 6:00am 12:45pm
• B Shift:
  • MonThu: 1:25pm 9:05pm
  • Fri: 12:35pm 7:00pm (20% shift premium)
• Overtime available when required
