Job summary

CV Technical Limited is seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Engineer to join their UK service team. You will install, service and repair CNC machines at customer sites, diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance across turning, milling and grinding machinery.

This role requires travel across the UK and the ability to work independently, delivering excellent customer service. Salary £40,000–£45,000 plus OTE £55,000–£65,000 with overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machine tools essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience with Siemens CNC controls and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair CNC machines at customer sites.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Fault-find on Siemens CNC control systems and PLCs.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Support machine installations and commissioning.
• Prepare service reports and documentation.
• Work independently at customer sites.
• Provide excellent customer support and relationships.
• Overtime as required.

CV Technical are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading CNC machine tool manufacturer, looking for experienced CNC Field Service Engineers to join their growing UK service team.

Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturer specialising in CNC turning, milling, grinding and boring machinery. With an extensive UK customer base and a dedicated team of over 30 Service Engineers, they offer excellent opportunities for long-term career development and progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC machine tools at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across CNC machinery.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault-find on Siemens CNC control systems and PLCs.
• Diagnose faults involving hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out electrical fault-finding, wiring and component replacement.
• Support machine installations and commissioning activities.
• Work independently at customer sites, ensuring machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
• Provide technical support and maintain excellent relationships with customers.
• Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working with CNC machine tools is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working with CNC turning centres, milling machines or machining centres.
• Knowledge of Siemens CNC control systems would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding.
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Apprentice-trained or qualified to Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
• Previous Field Service Engineering experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, with flexibility up to £48,000 for experienced candidates.
• OTE: £55,000 - £65,000 with overtime, door-to-door payments and bonuses.
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x.
