Job summary

CV Technical Limited is seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Engineer to join its UK service team. This role is UK-wide and based from home, with travel to customer sites for installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC machine tools.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, conduct PPMs and breakdown repairs, fault-find Siemens CNC controls and PLCs, and support commissioning activities. Excellent career prospects and a competitive package offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machine tools is essential.
• Apprentice-trained or Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work independently.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC machine tools at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across CNC machinery.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault-find on Siemens CNC control systems and PLCs.
• Diagnose faults involving hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Carry out electrical fault-finding, wiring and component replacement.
• Support machine installations and commissioning activities.
• Work independently at customer sites, ensuring machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
• Provide technical support and maintain excellent relationships with customers.
• Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working with CNC machine tools is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working with CNC turning centres, milling machines or machining centres.
• Knowledge of Siemens CNC control systems would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding.
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Apprentice-trained or qualified to Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
• Previous Field Service Engineering experience would be advantageous.Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, with flexibility up to £48,000 for experienced candidates.
• OTE: £55,000 - £65,000 with overtime, door-to-door payments and bonuses.
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x.
