Job summary

Ipeco Holdings Limited is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator for aerospace components in the Guildford area. You will program CNC milling machines (3-5 axis) online via Fanuc and Sinumerik, and offline via EDGECAM, ensuring first-offs meet tolerance and inspection standards.

You will produce setup documentation, stay abreast of cutting technology, and mentor new staff while maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• CNC programming, setting and operating experience, preferably in Aerospace.
• Experience programming 3-4 axis machines.
• Able to edit programs using Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
• Work with Metric and Imperial units.
• Computer literate and methodical.
• Able to work independently and in a team, under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis Milling machines online via Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.

INTRODUCTION:

OVERALL PURPOSE:

To program, set and operate CNC Milling Machines for the production of aerospace components.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Program CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis Milling machines online via Fanuc and Sinumerik controls
• Program offline via EDGECAM,
• Setting and production of first offs to ensure requirements are met and standards / tolerances are repeatable,
• Producing machine set-up documentation,
• Keeping abreast of cutting technology; identifying and developing new processes and striving for continuous improvement in CNC machining,
• Liaising with management to ensure programme timescales are met or advised of potential difficulties,
• Providing assistance to production management when required to develop and implement technical solutions to production related process issues,
• Liaising with Engineering / Quality departments to ensure Company procedures and quality assurance is maintained at all times,
• To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times,
• To support team members with other tasks as and when required,
• Responsible for mentoring new staff as required,
• To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe published Health and Safety procedures,
• To carry out other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Programming Training.
• CNC programming, setting and operating experience (preferably in the Aerospace Industry).
• Experience programming 3 & 4 axis machines.
• Must be able to edit programs using Fanuc & Sinumerik controls.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
• To be able to work using Metric and Imperial.
• Must be computer literate and methodical.
• Must have the ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment, and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
• Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
• Experience with CAD/CAM Offline Programming in EDGECAM.
• Experience programming 5 axis machines.
