Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their Wymondham-based state-of-the-art machine shop. You will program, set and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components with strict tolerances.

The role is a full-time, permanent position with an evening shift (4pm-12:30am), 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday. Initially, the first 3 months are on day shift during probation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Programmer/Machinist in precision manufacturing.
• Experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Time served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate multi-axis milling machines to tight tolerances.
• Produce first-off and batch components meeting specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Inspect finished components with precision measuring equipment.
• Work to deadlines while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Job description

CNC Programmer/Machinist

Our client, a leading manufacturer of precision carbon fibre components, based in Wymondham are currently seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their highly skilled team in their state-of-the-art Machine Shop.

This is a full-time permanent role working the evening shift :4pm-12:30am, 40 hours per week Monday – Friday(First 3 months will be worked on the day shift, while probation period is completed)

Key responsibilities for CNC Programmer/Machinist:

• Programming and operating multi axis milling machines.
• Producing precision components to exacting standards and tolerances.
• Producing first-off and batch components while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Inspecting finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Working to tight deadlines and schedules.
• Proactively contributing and working within the machine shop team.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety within the machine shop.

Essential requirements for CNC Programmer/Machinist:

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
• Experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Time served engineering apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications.
• Sound knowledge of basic machining and engineering principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Competence in the use of manual measuring equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, feeds and speeds.

Desirables

• Familiar with Haas, DMG machines or CMS machines
• Experience using hyperMILL CAD/CAM software
• Working knowledge of precision component parts using a wide variety of materials
• Experience machining carbon fibre components
• Flexibility with a team centred attitude
