Job summary

Sigma Recruitment Ltd is hiring a CNC Programmer/Setter to join a small team. You’ll programme and set 5-axis milling on aluminium parts with tight tolerances, integrating CAD/CAM workflows from drawings and STP/DXF files.

Expect a 39-hour week (Mon-Thu plus Friday morning) with no overtime, and an employee-owned bonus environment. Salary ranges £42,000-£45,000 with holiday entitlement and start-time flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing CNC machining programs from drawings and STP/DXF files using CAD/CAM software.
• Hands-on 5-axis milling (3+2) experience, setting and operating the machines to produce finished parts.
• Comfortable with a conversational programming system (Edgecam and HAAS a strong advantage) and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Produce CNC programs from drawings and STP/DXF files using CAD/CAM software.
• Upload programs to the machines, then set and operate them to produce the finished part.
• Run 5-axis milling work (3+2) on aluminium components for the electronics sector.
• Adjust and refine existing programs, and write new ones as fresh work comes in.
• Hold tight tolerances of 0.05mm and tighter on parts up to around 400mm square.
