Job summary

AWD online is recruiting a hands-on CNC Machine Operator for a steel processing site in Shafton. The role involves operating CNC profile machines, handling materials safely and maintaining quality standards on a rotating days/afters pattern.

You will work across a modern production environment, contribute to plate processing, stock control and housekeeping while meeting deadlines as part of a team.

Qualifications

• CNC profile machine background
• Ability to follow instructions, perform physical tasks and use tools safely
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
• Reliable, punctual and dependable approach to work
• Desirable: CNC plasma and/or gas cutting experience with profiled plate
• Desirable: Experience using overhead cranes and mobile plant

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC profile machines, including plasma and gas equipment
• Move materials safely using overhead cranes and forklifts
• Manage stock control and pick allocated steel plate
• Handle and transport heavy lifts
• Follow required quality controls throughout processing
• Comply with health and safety legislation
• Work independently and with colleagues to meet deadlines
• Maintain clean and orderly working areas
