Job summary

AWD online is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for a steel processing operation. The role requires a CNC profile machine background, safe material handling, and adherence to quality standards. The position operates on a rotating days-and-afters pattern across a 40-hour week.

You will operate CNC profile machines (plasma/gas), move materials with cranes and forklifts, manage stock, and maintain housekeeping while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• CNC profile machine background.
• Ability to follow instructions, perform physical tasks and use tools safely.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Reliable, punctual and dependable approach to work.
• CNC plasma/gas cutting experience with profiled plate.
• Experience using overhead cranes and mobile plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC profile machines, including plasma and gas equipment.
• Move materials safely using overhead cranes and fork trucks.
• Manage stock control and pick allocated steel plate.
• Handle and transport heavy lifts safely.
• Follow required quality controls throughout processing.
• Ensure work complies with health and safety legislation.
• Work independently and with colleagues to meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean and orderly working areas.
