Job summary

Curtis Furniture Ltd is seeking a reliable CNC Operator/Wood Machinist to set up and operate CNC machinery, beam saws and edge banders to produce timber components to exacting standards.

You will read drawings, work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contribute to quality and delivery. This is a permanent role, 39 hours per week, based at our Leeds site in West Yorkshire.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC woodworking machinery.
  • Familiarity with beam saws, edge banders and CNC software such as WoodWOP and B Solid.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately to specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery, along with beam saws and edge banders.
  • Machine timber and board materials to customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, labels and production paperwork.
  • Ensure components are delivered accurately and on time to production departments.
  • Carry out quality inspections and identify faults or defects.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives in the machine shop.
  • Support the wider production team and undertake general duties as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment in line with Health and Safety procedures.

CNC Operator/Wood machinist : Lates

Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

Employment: Permanent, 39 hours per week

Work schedule: Monday : Wednesday 3:30pm : 2:00am, Thursday 3:30pm : 1:00am

Location: Leeds LS10, West Yorkshire

Job Purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to machine and prepare timber and board materials to the required specifications, ensuring all components are produced accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting up and operating CNC machinery, along with beam saws and edge banders.
  • Machining timber and board materials to customer specifications.

Essential Skills And Experience
  • Previous experience operating CNC woodworking machinery.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high:quality work.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to solve problems.
  • Good communication skills, a positive work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work to production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
