Job summary

Impact Recruitment is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist for a permanent role in Northampton. You will join a well established business manufacturing bespoke kitchen furniture and cabinetry, focusing on high-quality craftsmanship and precise machining.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. Salary ranges £14.00-£16.00 per hour depending on experience, with full-time, permanent employment and on-site parking available.

Responsibilities

• Operate beam saws, edge banders and related woodworking machinery.
• Machine wood and sheet components to drawings.
• Carry out cutting, edging, sizing, shaping tasks.
• Prepare and process wood materials for production.
• Quality check components throughout machining.
• Maintain accuracy and finish standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Support other workshop areas when required.
• Keep working area clean and safe.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Location: Northampton, Lodge Farm Industrial Estate

Salary: £14.00-£16.00 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Operate beam saws, edge banders and other relevant woodworking machinery.
• Machine wood and sheet material components accurately to technical drawings and specifications.
• Carry out cutting, edging, sizing, shaping and other manufacturing tasks.
• Prepare and process a range of wood and sheet materials for production.
• Quality check components throughout the machining process.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, finish and attention to detail.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and safe machine operating practices.
• Support other areas of the workshop and production operation when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Wood Machinist, CNC Machinist or Workshop Machinist within a woodworking, joinery or manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating beam saws, edge banders or similar woodworking machinery.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach to work.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
• Good practical skills and a strong understanding of wood manufacturing processes.
• Reliable, consistent and proactive approach to work.
• Willingness to support different areas of the workshop when required.
