Job summary

Dover Precision Components is hiring a skilled CNC Machinist to operate CNC machining centres for turning, milling or grinding to produce customised designs from steel grades, copper, brass, aluminium and bronze. The role supports lean manufacturing and requires strict tolerances.

We offer a 37-hour week with a rotating early/evening and night shift pattern, plus overtime. Benefits include pension contributions up to 13%, life insurance and 25 days annual leave, with additional bonuses based on

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or SVQ/NVQ Level 3, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in lean manufacturing.
• Experience with multi-axis milling/turning on Correa and/or Doosan (DN Solutions) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints and sketches to determine machining requirements.
• Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
• Interpret work instructions and select proper tooling for operations.
• Calculate feeds and speeds for various steel grades and alloys.
• Read, edit or write complete CNC programs and inspect final components.

We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPCWorking for Dover Precision Components as a Skilled CNC Machinist, you will be utilising CNC machining centres for turning, milling or grinding operations to produce customised designs from a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminium and bronze.As we continue to experience sustained long term growth in our key markets, supplying OEM customers in the power generation, transport and renewable energy sectors amongst others, we have recently invested in several new machine tools that are arriving with us next month, to cover high-precision boring and complex multi-axis milling, for which we now require an additional 5 x Skilled Machinist / Operator’s – Turner’s and Miller’s to cover both days and nightshifts.Our products include a range of fluid-film bearings, isolators & mechanical seals supplied under our brand’s Waukesha Bearings and Inpro/Seal , the site being one of eight located around the world, supplying the regions in which they are located.Annual Salaries (37-hour working week, Monday to Friday. Permanent Contracts):£48,212.62 for a weekly rotating shift pattern of early (6am) and backshifts (2pm)£54,340.65 for working on the night shift.*Rates are inclusive of shift premium.
