Job Description for CNC Machinist

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing parts with 4 and 5-axis CNC machines, adhering to quality assurance procedures.

Responsibilities include:

1. Planning machining jobs based on work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
2. Setting up and proving out jobs independently, adjusting speeds, feeds, and EIA code as needed.
3. Assembling tools and toolholders, setting with presetter.
4. Determining work holding, tool holding, and required tools, either independently or with team collaboration.
5. Designing and manufacturing fixtures and work holding devices.
6. Managing tooling and material needs, checking inventory, and placing orders.
7. Programming new parts and modifications using Mazatrol when necessary.
8. Manufacturing parts using CNC and conventional machining equipment.
9. Maintaining and updating manufacturing documentation.
10. Ensuring safety procedures and regulations are followed.
11. Performing preventative maintenance and repairing equipment as needed.
12. Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
13. Arriving on time, working overtime and weekends as required.
14. Taking ownership of work, acting professionally, and demonstrating initiative.
15. Performing other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. High school machining program or technical school training with relevant diploma or certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience operating 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centers, with Mazak Mazatrol experience a plus.
3. Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, and to edit EIA programs.
4. Experience with precision measuring instruments and reading drawings with GD&T knowledge.
5. Understanding of work holding, tool holding, and cutting tools.
6. Strong math skills and basic computer skills.
7. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
8. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands.
9. Excellent English communication skills.
10. Ability to produce accurate parts within deadlines with quality finish.
