Job description

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists are responsible for the setup, optimisation, and operation of various CNC Machines within the machine shop. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Location: Hastings
Title: CNC Machinist (Turner)
Shift Pattern: Swing Shift

Responsibilities
  1. Set-up a range of 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners and bar feeders.
  2. Operate CNC machine tools, ensuring minimal downtime.
  3. Verify programs and settings using measurement equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
  4. Ensure component compliance with engineering drawings and quality procedures using inspection equipment.
  5. Record daily operations and provide operational effectiveness results.
  6. Contribute to continuous improvement activities and process enhancements.
  7. Maintain and improve time standards.
  8. Perform daily maintenance as required.
  9. Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  10. Follow health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  11. Support ad-hoc tasks and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years experience setting and operating 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Time served apprentice with C&G/NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working on alternating shifts with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Citizen, and Mazatrol is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with measurement equipment.
  • Compliance with all policies, EHS, and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of work.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-skill and adapt to tasks.
