FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established precision engineering business with the recruitment of an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter.
Permanent, full-time position. This role will be based at the company's Birmingham site.
The business specialises in low-volume and prototype machining, fixtures, specialist components and precision engineering for sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical and nuclear.
Salary
£18.00-£22.00 per hour, depending on experience
- regular overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am-2:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres.
- Produce one-off, prototype and low-volume precision components from engineering drawings.
- Work confidently with Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain controls.
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances and required quality standards.
- Select appropriate tooling, feeds and speeds for each job.
- Design or manufacture fixtures and jigs where required.
- Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Ensure production lead times and delivery deadlines are achieved.Complete relevant production paperwork and shop-floor data accurately.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Skills & Experience
- Experience within CNC milling, programming, setting and operating.
- Confident reading and working from engineering drawings.
- Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining centres is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain controls.
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
- Confident using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage jobs from initial material through to finished component.
- Experience using conventional machinery such as centre lathes, turret mills or surface grinders would be advantageous.
- CAD and quality-systems experience would also be beneficial.
