Job summary

ESS Employment are seeking a CNC Miller Setter/Programmer to join our client’s team at Yate. The role involves setting up and programming 3/4/5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain and Fanuc controls, producing high-complexity components from various materials, and ensuring parts meet tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, maintain quality standards, and contribute to 5S practices while supporting production schedules.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of component dimensions using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and plug gauges.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and produce components to drawing tolerances.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with inspection machines – CMM / Opticline machines.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating 3/4/5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls.
• Producing high complexity components from a range of materials.
• Adhering to quality standards and NRFT.
• Communicating Not Right First Time (NRFT) within assigned areas.
• Setting up tools, offsets, and fixtures for the machining process.
