Job summary

Candidate Source in Milton Keynes is seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter Operator to join their precision engineering team. You will work on 3- and 5-axis machines, analyzing drawings and performing in-process checks.

The role requires autonomy, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with shifts Monday to Thursday 2pm–10pm and Friday 1pm–8pm.

Qualifications

• Experienced Setter / Operator - Miller across a range of 3 and 5 axis CNC machine centres.
• Knowledge of Heidenhain, Hurco or Mazatrol controls.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and in-process dimensional/visual checks.
• Experience in managing a wide range of metals and plastics.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently to deadlines.
• Ability to mind multiple machines if required.
• Confident in working with a degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Carry out in-process dimensional and visual checks using measuring equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Maintain productivity and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a CNC Miller / Setter / Operator to join an engineering company based in Milton Keynes that manufactures high precision CNC milled and turned components from solid and cast in a wide range of metals and plastics for a variety of industry sectors.

As CNC Miller / Setter / Operator, you will be working: Monday - Thursday: 2pm to 10pm, Friday 1pm to 8pm.

What we're looking for in a CNC Miller / Setter / Operator:

• Experienced Setter / Operator - Miller across a range of 3 and 5 axis CNC machine centres, ideally within a fast-paced precision engineering environment.
• Knowledge of either Heidenhein, Hurco or Mazatrol controls.
• Good understanding of Engineering drawings and proficient in carrying out in- process dimensional and visual checks using the appropriate measuring equipment.
• Experience in managing a wide range of metals and plastics.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently to deadlines.
• Ability to mind multiple machines if required.
• Confident in working with a degree of autonomy.
