Location: Warwickshire

Salary: £16.00 - £19.00 per hour, depending on experience

Shift Pattern: Days - Rotating 5-week pattern Excellent Rest Days Available

An established and highly respected aerospace manufacturer based on the boarder of Warwickshire/Leicestershire is looking to strengthen its manufacturing team with an experienced CNC Setter Operator.

The Role

As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating Okuma or Mazak Integrex CNC machines, producing specialist precision components to the required drawing, quality and production standards.

This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced CNC engineer who is confident setting machinery, making adjustments and ensuring components are produced correctly and efficiently.

You will work as part of an experienced manufacturing team, taking responsibility for the quality of your work while maintaining the required production standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting and operating Okuma or Mazak Integrex CNC machines.
  • Loading and unloading components.
  • Setting tooling, offsets and workholding.
  • Following CNC programmes, engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Proving programmes and making machine adjustments where required.
  • Monitoring machining processes and adjusting for tool wear.
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection.
  • Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
  • Identifying and reporting quality or machining issues.
  • Working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Working efficiently to meet production requirements without compromising quality.
About You

The key requirement for this position is genuine hands‑on CNC setting and operating experience on either Okuma or Mazak Integrex machinery.

This role will suit an experienced CNC engineer who is confident working with specialist components and is comfortable taking responsibility for setting machines and producing quality parts.

  • Previous experience as a CNC Setter Operator within a precision engineering environment.
  • Okuma or Mazak Integrex experience - essential.
  • Strong CNC machining and setting experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience setting tooling, workholding and machine offsets.
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
  • A good understanding of machining processes and cutting parameters.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled production team.
  • Aerospace experience would be advantageous, although strong precision engineering experience will be considered.
Shift Pattern

This is a days-based rotating 5-week shift pattern, giving you substantial planned time away from work:

  • Week 1: Monday & Tuesday - Work
  • Week 2: Monday & Tuesday - Work
  • Week 3: Saturday & Sunday - Work
  • Week 4: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - Work
  • Week 5: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - Work

All other days are rest days.

Additional rest days can be worked as overtime, providing an opportunity to increase your earnings if you choose.

The pattern offers a different approach to traditional shift work, with large blocks of planned time off between working periods.
