The Role
- CNC Programming using Alphacam to develop and optimize CNC milling programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and other technical specifications.
- Proving out programs and conducting first inspections.
- Managing the CNC program database with Cimco, approving or rejecting CNC programs returned from machines, and maintaining accurate records of setup sheets and tooling information.
- Setting up CNC milling machines, including loading materials, fixtures, and tools, and calibrating machine settings for precise results.
- Monitoring consumable levels and advising when stocks are low.
- Operating CNC milling machines safely and efficiently to produce small batch and prototype components, adhering to production schedules and quality standards.
- Performing quality control using inspection equipment, conducting first-off and in-process inspections to verify part conformity, and making necessary adjustments.
The Candidate
- Experience programming, setting, and operating Fanuc-based CNC milling machines.
- Experience with programming using CAD/CAM software.
- Good communication skills with management and team members.
- Experience with final or in-line inspections.
- Knowledge of 3 to 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with various measuring and inspection equipment.
