Job summary

Contek Recruitment are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join a precision engineering group in Nuneaton. The role covers programming, setting and operating 3–5 axis DMG milling machines, using Heidenhain controls to produce high-value components for defence and aerospace sectors.

You will read detailed drawings, choose tooling and strategies, and perform in-process inspection while collaborating with engineering and production to optimise cycles.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis DMG CNC milling machines.
• Proficient with Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Capable of working to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating a range of 3, 4 and 5-axis DMG CNC milling machinery.
• Programming at the machine using Heidenhain controls.
• Machining complex and high-value components.
• Producing one-off and low-volume precision parts.
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
• Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies.
• Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining high quality standards.
• Collaborating with engineering and production to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
• Working to tight deadlines.
