Job summary

The Collective Network Limited in Basildon is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to program, set and run 3- and 4-axis machining centres on small batches and one-offs, with Heidenhain controls.

You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, and operate the machines yourself to produce high-precision parts. The role also involves spotting issues and proposing improvements while maintaining a safe shop floor.

Qualifications

• Solid CNC milling experience, ideally from automotive or aerospace.
• Confidence setting and running your own machines, not just operating.
• A good read on engineering drawings.
• The calm to work accurately under pressure, and the initiative to sort problems without waiting to be told.
• Heidenhain experience is expected, Hypermill is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Work confidently from engineering drawings.
• Select tooling, set and operate the machines yourself.
• Handle small batch and one-off work, often on large castings.
• Flag issues and suggest improvements as you go.
• Keep a safe, professional shop floor.
