THE RECRUITMENT FIX LIMITED is recruiting an experienced CNC Miller for a busy specialist engineering company in Hyde. You will set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines, interpreting drawings and GD&T to achieve tight tolerances.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC milling experience, proficiency with multiple CNC controls, and knowledge of CAM software. A technical diploma or apprenticeship in machining is preferred, with strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller or CNC Machinist.
• Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Heidenhain).
• Experience with CAM software is an advantage.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3- to 5-axis).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Create part programmes when necessary.
• Load programs and set tool offsets; perform test runs.
• Select tools, fixtures and materials for each job.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust as needed.
• Carry out in-process inspection with measuring tools.
• Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Identify and correct machining defects or errors.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Record production data and report issues to supervisors or engineers.

Are you an apprenticeship trained CNC Miller?

Currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a very busy specialist engineering company in Hyde.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis as applicable)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Create part programmes when necessary
• Load programs, set tool offsets, and perform test runs
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job
• Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments
• Carry out in process inspection using measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc.)
• Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Identify and correct machining defects or errors
• Follow health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
• Record production data and report issues to supervisors or engineers

• Salary starting at £18.37 per hour
• Hours of work Mon to Thurs 7.45am 5pm Fri 7.45 10.45am + regular overtime available
