Job summary

Moog Wolverhampton Limited is seeking an apprentice-trained Manual/CNC Grinder to join the Wolverhampton facility. You will work on manual cylindrical grinders and Studer CNC machines, delivering tight tolerances for aerospace components.

Training will precede shift work, including nights and potential overtime. The role requires an engineering apprenticeship, strong grinding and inspection skills, and a commitment to quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in engineering completed.
• Experience with cylindrical grinding is essential.
• Experience in aerospace/engineering/manufacturing is preferred.
• Solid understanding of machining techniques and tooling.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with process improvement.
• Familiarity with inspection techniques to meet drawing tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual cylindrical grinders and CNC grinders (S33/S31).
• Carry out own 1st off inspection and document quality checks.
• Perform precision grinding to tight 0.00005 inch tolerances.
• Manage multiple machines/processes and ensure quality.
• Work a shift pattern including nights and overtime when requested.

Job Summary

Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton on Shifts once training is completed. At Moog we're focused on the customer and for us this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerance, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Experience in Setting, Operating Manual Cylindrical machines S20/RM250 and Setting CNC (Preferably Studer S33/S31)
• Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials
• Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation
• Precision manual cylindrical grinding, working to achieve limits to 0.00005"
• Able to set and run multiple machine / processes
• This role will require the individual to work a shift pattern, including nights and overtime when requested.

Key Skills and experience

• A recognised engineering apprenticeship
• Cylindrical grinding experience essential
• Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.
• Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling
• Attention to detail and accuracy and process improvement
• Using the relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance

Additional Requirements

This role requires the candidate to be self-certified and a quality stamp holder after qualifying period.

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
