Moog Aircraft Group in Wolverhampton is seeking an apprentice trained, experienced Manual/CNC Grinder to join the team on site after training. The role involves working to extremely close tolerances on aerospace components and requires pride in quality and process control.

You will operate both manual cylindrical grinders and CNC grinders (Studer), contribute to first-off inspections, and maintain documentation while following BPSS clearance requirements and shift patterns, including nights and

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Cylindrical grinding experience essential.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Experience with CNC/Manual grinders.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual cylindrical grinders.
• Set up CNC grinders (Studer S33/S31).
• Finish to a tolerance of 0.00005 inches.
• Perform 1st off inspection and complete quality documentation.

At Moog we're focused on the customer and for us this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerance, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.Responsibilities IncludeExperience in Setting, Operating Manual Cylindrical machines S20/RM250 and Setting CNC (Preferably Studer S33/S31)Capability of machining exotic and hardened materialsCarry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentationPrecision manual cylindrical grinding, working to achieve limits to 0.00005\"Able to set and run multiple machine / processes.Key Skills and experience:A recognised engineering apprenticeshipCylindrical grinding experience essentialPrevious experience within an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate toolingAttention to detail and accuracy and process improvementUsing the relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing toleranceThis role will require the individual to work a shift pattern, including nights and overtime when requested.The role requires the candidate to be self-certified and a quality stamp holder after qualifying period.Security ClearanceBaseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
