Job summary

GE Vernova Bangor manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Trainer to lead and deliver our Machinist Internship Program. This hands-on role combines classroom and shop-floor instruction to prepare interns and early-career machinists for precision manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC machining experience and prior teaching or mentoring experience, with strong G-Code programming, GD&T knowledge, and proficiency in adaptive machining techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associate degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, setup, operation and programming.
• Experience teaching, training or mentoring in manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of CNC controls, G-Code and macro programming.
• Familiarity with adaptive machining techniques including tool and part probing.
• Understanding of precision metrology and GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary instructor for the Machinist Internship Program, delivering shop-floor and classroom‑based training to interns and early-career machinists.
• Demonstrate CNC operation, setup and programming including G-Code and adaptive machining techniques.
• Guide trainees through precision measurement, print reading, and GD&T, ensuring competency milestones are met.
• Develop structured training modules, work instructions, and learning progressions aligned with standards.
• Provide mentorship and integrate real production scenarios into training activities.
• Maintain records of intern development and report progress to operations leadership; drive improvements.
