Job summary

Castle Employment Group is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist in Leeds. The role covers programming, setting and operating CNC machinery from start to finish, with ownership of components from drawing to completion.

The successful candidate will read drawings, set up tooling, establish speeds/feeds, and perform inspection to ensure customers’ specifications are met. Permanent role with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery independently.
• Experience across CNC turning and/or milling.
• Full machine setup and engineering drawing interpretation required.
• Solid knowledge of tool selection and setting, speeds/feeds, and workholding.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
• Programming CNC machinery.
• Setting machines independently.
• Selecting and setting tooling.
• Setting datums and offsets.
• Establishing speeds and feeds.
• Setting workholding.
• Operating and monitoring CNC machinery.
• Making programme and tooling adjustments.
• Producing components to drawing and specification.
• Working to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection.
• Using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshooting machining, tooling and programming issues.
• Taking responsibility for component quality from setup through to completion.
