Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is looking for a skilled Machine Shop Technician / CNC Machinist for a permanent role in Tring, Hertfordshire. You will program, set and operate CNC milling and turning machines (3/4 axis milling, 2 axis turning) on prototype and low‑volume parts, reading engineering drawings and maintaining tight tolerances in a clean, well‑run workshop.

The team is small and supportive, with training provided to cover machines and programming gaps.

Qualifications

Experience as CNC Machinist with programming, setting and operating milling and turning machines.
Apprentice trained or 5+ years in a precision machining environment.
Competent reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

Programming, setting and operating CNC mills (3/4 axis) and CNC lathes (2 axis) for prototype/low‑volume parts.
Work from engineering drawings and inspect own work with precision measuring equipment.
Support new part development and collaborate with engineering/design teams.
Maintain a clean, organized workshop and adhere to quality standards.
