Fives in the United Kingdom is seeking a Machine Shop Grinder to join a multi-functional, highly skilled team. The role is hands-on, producing parts to fulfil Assembly, Aftermarket and Spares requirements, with shift flexibility essential.

You will operate a Waldrich Coburg Large Surface Grinder (Siemens 840D), read drawings, set up fixtures and maintain tight tolerances, with apprenticeship background preferred. The company offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a medium to large surface grinder (training provided).
• Setting components, wheels, and fixtures for precision work.
• Using measuring equipment to verify drawings and tolerances.
• Interpreting engineering drawings to ensure conformance.
• Achieving critical geometrical tolerancing and product conformity.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Waldrich Coburg Large Surface Grinder (Siemens 840D).
• Produce components from 25 kg to 12,000 kg to drawing specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings for production.
• Work with minimal supervision and plan workload to meet targets.
• Uphold high health and safety standards and company directives.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.
