Job summary

Argon Engineering Limited in the Irlam/Manchester area is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. You will program, set and operate Doosan lathes with Fanuc controls, read engineering drawings with GD&T, edit and prove ISO CNC programs and select tooling to produce high‑quality components to drawing specifications.

The role offers a permanent, day shift position with a competitive £17–£20 per hour rate, dependent on experience, and

Qualifications

Time-served engineering apprenticeship or minimum of 3 years CNC turning experience.
Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
Ability to read and edit ISO programs for turning.
Good knowledge of Fanuc-controlled CNC machinery.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
Work with Doosan CNC lathes including Lynx 2100/220LSY, Puma 2600SY and Puma 2600M.
Read, edit and prove ISO CNC programs.
Set tooling, offsets, compensation and reference points.
Inspect first-off components and ensure parts meet specifications.
Identify and troubleshoot machining issues and maintain quality.
