Job Responsibilities
- Manufacture parts with CNC machines using industry-standard techniques, adhering to quality assurance procedures.
- Plan machining jobs from work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
- Program new parts and modify existing ones using Mazatrol as needed.
- Work independently or with team members to determine work holding, tool holding, and tooling requirements.
- Assemble tools and toolholders and set with a presetter.
- Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
- Anticipate tooling and material needs, check inventory, and place orders as required.
- Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual machines and saws.
- Maintain and update manufacturing information per company directives.
- Ensure safe operations in compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and repair as necessary.
- Keep work area clean and organized according to standards.
- Arrive on time, work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Take ownership of work, act professionally, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school machining program and/or post-secondary technical training in machining.
- Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a prototyping or low-volume environment.
- Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is a plus.
- Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, edit programs, and manufacture fixtures.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
- Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment.
- Strong math skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptability to changing schedules and demands.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to produce accurate parts to deadlines with quality finish.
