Position: CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing parts using CNC and conventional machining equipment, adhering to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manufacture parts with CNC machines using industry-standard techniques, following quality assurance procedures.
  2. Plan machining jobs based on work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
  3. Program new parts and modify existing programs using Mazatrol as needed.
  4. Determine work holding, tool holding, and tools required for each job, working independently or with team members.
  5. Assemble tools and toolholders, and set them with a presetter.
  6. Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
  7. Anticipate tooling and material needs, manage inventory, and place orders as necessary.
  8. Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual machines and saws when required.
  9. Maintain and update manufacturing documentation per company directives.
  10. Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain a clean work environment.
  11. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  12. Arrive on time, work overtime and weekends as required, and take ownership of your work.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school machining program and/or post-secondary technical training in machining (diploma, certificate, or degree) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a prototyping or low-volume/high-mix environment.
  • Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is a plus.
  • Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, including editing EIA programs and manufacturing workholding fixtures.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (digital and analog).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, with knowledge of GD&T.
  • Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment used in CNC machining.
  • Strong math skills and basic computer skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules, delays, or unexpected events with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet schedule demands.
  • Ability to produce accurate parts to print and meet deadlines with a high-quality finish.
