Job summary

New Resource Group in Exeter is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Setter / Operator to join an established precision engineering business on a permanent late-shift basis.

Set and operate 3- and 4-axis FANUC-controlled machines, read drawings, apply tooling changes and inspect components to tight tolerances. Mon-Thu 11:30–21:45, 39 hours, £15.00–£17.50/hr plus 20% shift premium and overtime; 4-day week.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating 3 or 4 axis CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings.
• Experience with Fanuc controls and programs.
• Able to set machines, change tooling and adjust as required.
• Background in precision engineering or high-quality machining advantageous.

Job description

CNC Milling Setter / Operator - Late Shift

£15.00 - £17.50 per hour + 20% shift premium + overtime

Monday - Thursday, 11:30 - 21:45 | 39 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Milling Setter / Operator to join an established precision engineering business in Exeter on a permanent late-shift basis.

This is a hands-on role setting and operating 3 and 4 axis CNC milling machines, producing precision components to engineering drawings.

The Role

• Set and operate 3 and 4 axis CNC milling machines
• Read and work accurately from engineering drawings
• Use Fanuc-controlled CNC machinery and programs
• Carry out setting, tooling changes and machine adjustments as required
• Produce components to required quality and dimensional standards
• Complete in-process inspection and ensure work meets specification
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area
• Work as part of an experienced machining team

About You

• Previous experience setting and operating 3 or 4 axis CNC milling machines
• Comfortable working from engineering drawings
• Experience with Fanuc controls/programs
• Able to confidently set machines and produce quality components
• Programming experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
• A background in precision engineering or low-volume/high-quality machining would be advantageous

Experience with specific machine makes is not essential; the business operates a range of modern CNC milling machinery.

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Thursday: 11:30 - 21:45
• 39 hours per week
• £15.00 - £17.50 per hour, depending on experience
• Additional 20% late-shift premium for all hours worked
• Regular overtime available:
• Weekdays: 1.33x
• Weekends: 1.5x
