Profile

Our client, based on the outskirts of Leeds, has been established 24 years and is the market leader in the manufacture of furniture for the Hospitality Industry. They manufacture and fit out Hotels with bespoke furniture for clients such as Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn & Crowne Plaza.

The company operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment and is looking for a friendly, approachable individual who is flexible and willing to learn and grow with the company.

Job Purpose

Machining and preparing timber and board materials to the required specifications and quality.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Operation & set-up of a wide range of machinery, predominantly CNC, including Edgebanders and Beam Saws.
  2. Ensure a smooth and on-time delivery of components and assemblies to various factory departments.
  3. Ensure that components meet the correct specifications to satisfy customer requirements.
  4. Use paperwork to carry out specific detailed tasks (labels, drawings & specifications).
  5. Quality checking and fault identification.
  6. Carry out any general tasks when asked by your Line leader/Manager.
  7. Conform to all Health & Safety policies and guidelines.
  8. Work with the Machine shop manager to continually improve procedures to the highest level.
  9. Previous experience using a CNC machine, ideally with wood.
  10. Knowledge of other machines like Edge banding and saw operation, and understanding of WoodWop and B-Solid.
  11. Willingness to work as part of a team and ability to work alone.
  12. Ability to problem-solve issues as they arise.
  13. Keen eye for detail and quality of work.
  14. Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
  15. Able to use your own initiative to ensure you remain productive.
  16. Possess good communication skills.
  17. Have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn.
  18. Able to work to targets.
