Job description

Job Title: CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing parts using CNC machines and conventional machining equipment, with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate CNC machines using industry-standard techniques, adhering to quality assurance procedures.
2. Plan machining jobs based on work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
3. Program new parts and modify existing programs using Mazatrol as needed.
4. Determine work holding, tool holding, and required tools independently or with team assistance.
5. Assemble tools and toolholders, and set with a presetter.
6. Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
7. Manage tooling and material inventory, and coordinate orders with supervisors.
8. Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual machines and saws as required.
9. Maintain and update manufacturing documentation per company guidelines.
10. Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
11. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
12. Maintain a clean and organized work area according to company standards.
13. Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, and work overtime or weekends as necessary.
14. Take ownership of work, demonstrate dependability and professionalism, and collaborate effectively with team members.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or technical training in machining (preferred).
2. Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC machines, especially in prototyping or high-mix environments.
3. Experience with Mazatrol programming is a plus.
4. Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, including editing EIA programs.
5. Proficient with digital and analog precision measuring instruments.
6. Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
7. Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment.
8. Strong math skills and basic computer literacy.
9. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
10. Adaptability to changing schedules and positive attitude towards unexpected events.
11. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
12. Ability to produce accurate parts within deadlines with a high-quality finish.
