Job Title: CNC Machinist
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing parts using CNC machines and conventional machining equipment, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines using industry-standard techniques, adhering to quality assurance procedures.
- Plan machining jobs based on work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
- Program new parts and modify existing programs using Mazatrol as needed.
- Determine work holding, tool holding, and required tools independently or with team assistance.
- Assemble tools and toolholders, and set with a presetter.
- Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
- Manage tooling and material inventory, and coordinate orders with supervisors.
- Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual machines and saws as required.
- Maintain and update manufacturing documentation per company guidelines.
- Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to company standards.
- Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, and work overtime or weekends as necessary.
- Take ownership of work, demonstrate dependability and professionalism, and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or technical training in machining (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC machines, especially in prototyping or high-mix environments.
- Experience with Mazatrol programming is a plus.
- Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, including editing EIA programs.
- Proficient with digital and analog precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
- Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment.
- Strong math skills and basic computer literacy.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptability to changing schedules and positive attitude towards unexpected events.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Ability to produce accurate parts within deadlines with a high-quality finish.
