Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Manufacture parts with CNC machines using industry-standard techniques, adhering to quality assurance procedures.
2. Plan machining jobs based on work schedules, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
3. Program new parts and modify existing ones using Mazatrol as needed.
4. Work independently or with team members to determine work holding, tool holding, and required tools.
5. Assemble tools and toolholders, and set with a presetter.
6. Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
7. Manage tooling and material needs, check inventory, and coordinate orders with supervisors.
8. Operate conventional machining equipment such as manual machines and saws as required.
9. Maintain and update manufacturing information according to company directives.
10. Ensure safe operations in compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
11. Perform equipment preventative maintenance and repair to ensure functionality and performance.
12. Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized according to standards.
13. Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, and work overtime or weekends as necessary.
14. Take ownership of work, act professionally, and continuously seek to improve skills.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school machining program and/or post-secondary technical training in machining preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC machines, ideally in a prototyping or high-mix environment.
• Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is a plus.
• Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines, and to edit EIA programs.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments, both digital and analog.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, with knowledge of GD&T.
• Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment used in CNC machining.
• Strong math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and demands.
• Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to produce accurate parts to deadlines with quality finishes.
