Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in Barnsley to join a respected motorsport supply business. The role covers programming, setting and operating Haas 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC mills and Y axis lathes, with strict attention to tolerances and quality.

You will perform dimensional checks, engage in online/offline Hypermill CAM programming, and maintain a clean, safe work area. The position is 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision environment.
• Proficient 5-axis programming with Hyper Mill.
• Fully conversant with Haas/Fanuc CNC Mills/Lathes.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and models.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Haas 3, 4 and 5 axis mills and Y axis lathes.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection using appropriate measuring tools.
• Online and offline programming using Hypermill CAM.
• Deburr and finish components to required tolerances.

CNC MACHINIST

An exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist to join an established business with an enviable reputation in the historic motorsport industry, supplying high-quality precision machined components and assemblies.

The department has seen continual growth and expansion within the industries served with regular investment in machine tools and software aid and promote the future growth of the department.

About the Role:

• Programming, setting and operating Haas 3,4 and 5 axis CNC mills and Y axis lathes.
• Carrying out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Online and offline programming with Hypermill CAM.
• Deburring and finishing of components.
• Maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• 40hours per week plus overtime when required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• 5 axis programming using Hyper Mill.
• Fully conversant using Haas/Fanuc controlled CNC Mills/Lathes.
• Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Responsible for quality and conformity to the drawings/3D CAD models, enthusiasm to produce the best possible quality.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and deadlines.
• Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
• Experience of working to own initiative.
• Good interpersonal/communication skills.
