Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist . The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in operating CNC machinery to produce components. Based in Alfreton, this is initially for 8 weeks but has the potential to become a permanent role. This is an afternoon shift

Duties

  • Operate CNC Lathe to manufacture metal and plastic parts according to specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Set up and adjust CNC machines for optimal performance, ensuring accuracy in production.
  • Utilise power tools and hand tools for assembly and finishing processes as required.
  • Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

What we are looking for

  • Proficient in using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assemble, disassemble, and weld components as necessary.
  • Familiarity with tooling techniques and the use of various machining tools.
  • Basic maths skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances.
  • Experience with power tools and hand tools relevant to machining operations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.

What's in it for you -

  • Initially an 8 week role, however this could lead to a permanent position
  • Working afternoons Monday - Thursday 11.30am - 8.00pm, Friday 10am - 5pm.
  • Pay £16 - £18 per hour
