Type: Permanent

Leidos is seeking an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader for a late shift (2pm to 10.15pm, Monday to Friday).

We supply the automotive industry with special purpose tooling and equipment, including jigs and fixtures used in car manufacturing.

You will lead a small shift team in machining jigs and fixtures for both prototypes and batch manufacturing. Your responsibilities include CNC programming, setting, operating machinery, and supporting CNC setter/operators in managing their workload.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing inspection and daily sheets.
  • Ensuring manufacturing aligns with our Quality Brief and standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, Q1).
  • Achieving production targets and deadlines.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings.

Additional duties in CNC scheduling, methods, and setups include:

  • Component inspection and quality control.
  • Producing jigs, fixtures, and tooling methods for safe, cost-efficient production.
  • Preparing cutting tools.

Supervision of:

  • Job record sheets.
  • Timecards.
  • Inspection sheets.
  • Ensuring efficiency of Setters/Operators, including de-burring, inspecting, or running multiple machines.

About You:

  • Apprentice trained or experienced in the field.
  • Experience operating 3 and 4 axis CNC machines (Fanuc or Siemens preferred).
  • Fast-paced engineering environment experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and use measuring equipment.
  • Proficient in Metric and Imperial measurements.
  • Understanding of engineering tolerances and quality inspections.
  • Must pass and maintain BPSS security check.
