Job Title: CNC Machinist

To accurately set and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling machines to manufacture complex, high-variety, low-volume components.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Read, understand, and examine engineering drawings and specifications to determine appropriate methods, sequences of operations, and machine settings.
2. Select and secure work-holding devices and appropriate cutting, shaping, and forming tools.
3. Create robust setups that incorporate poka-yoke principles and collaborate with operators to ensure they understand loading instructions.
4. Operate manual controls to clock vices/fixtures and set datums.
5. Reposition workpieces, set tools, and reset machines as necessary during production runs.
6. Instruct operators on the safe and correct operation of the machines.
7. Self-inspect to ensure parts meet customer-required tolerances.
8. Select tooling accurately and use measuring equipment proficiently.
9. Set up and safely operate machinery, including 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
10. Work in accordance with company and customer standards.
11. Problem-solve and often work independently.
12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in line with 5S principles.

Personal Specification:

Education/Qualification:

• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Good command of English: minimum Level B1 CEFR.

Experience:

• Strong engineering background.
• At least two years of experience in an engineering manufacturing environment; CNC experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Experience in setting up best practices.
