Job Title: CNC Machinist
To accurately set and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling machines to manufacture complex, high-variety, low-volume components.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Read, understand, and examine engineering drawings and specifications to determine appropriate methods, sequences of operations, and machine settings.
- Select and secure work-holding devices and appropriate cutting, shaping, and forming tools.
- Create robust setups that incorporate poka-yoke principles and collaborate with operators to ensure they understand loading instructions.
- Operate manual controls to clock vices/fixtures and set datums.
- Reposition workpieces, set tools, and reset machines as necessary during production runs.
- Instruct operators on the safe and correct operation of the machines.
- Self-inspect to ensure parts meet customer-required tolerances.
- Select tooling accurately and use measuring equipment proficiently.
- Set up and safely operate machinery, including 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
- Work in accordance with company and customer standards.
- Problem-solve and often work independently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in line with 5S principles.

Personal Specification:
Education/Qualification:
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Good command of English: minimum Level B1 CEFR.
Experience:
- Strong engineering background.
- At least two years of experience in an engineering manufacturing environment; CNC experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Experience in setting up best practices.
