Job summary

Kinetic Recruitment are recruiting a CNC Machine Operator for a 3-6 month temporary contract based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You will operate a range of CNC machines, ensuring that precise specifications are input to complete the process to a high level of accuracy.

The role includes setting up CNC and conventional machines, editing NC programs, selecting tooling as per Tool Sheets, and verifying output with micrometers, verniers and CMM.

Qualifications

• ONC or City Guilds in relevant discipline.
• Previous CNC operation in an engineering environment.
• Experience working to fine tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates CNC and conventional machines to produce components in accordance with specifications.
• Makes necessary edits to NC part programmes to optimise the machining of components and feeds this information back to programmers.
• Selects and presets tooling in accordance with Tool Sheets and checks finished work using measurement equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Vernier, CMM).
• Maintains tooling, components, machine and working environment in a clean and orderly state.
• Carries out basic lubrication and maintenance of machines in line with training and documents quality progress.

CNC Machine Operator

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, England, North East

Contract type: Contract (3-6 month temporary contract)

Salary: £20 - £28 per hour

Kinetic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator for a 3-6 month temporary contract based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. As a CNC Machine Operator you will operate a range of CNC machines, ensuring that precise specifications are input to complete the process to a high level of accuracy.

Job Role: Sets up and operates C.N.C. and conventional machines to produce components in accordance with specifications. Makes necessary edits to NC part programmes to optimise the machining of components and feeds this information back to programmers. (This may need metric/imperial conversion.) Select and where necessary pre-set tooling in accordance with 'Tool Sheets'. Check finished work in accordance with 'Quality Acceptance Standard', using relevant measurement equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Vernier, C.M.M.). Maintains tooling, components, machine and working environment in a clean and orderly state. Carries out basic lubrication and maintenance of machines in line with training. Maintains documentation regarding quality and progress of the job.

The CNC Operator position is on a 3 shift pattern (mornings/afternoons/nights) and paid at an attractive hourly rate. This is an initial 3-6 month role however there could be scope for extension depending on workload on site.
