Scope of Role

The CNC machine operator (Training provided) is responsible for understanding machinery functions and setup, along with knowledge of the software of the machine. They will also have the skills to inspect and carry out basic maintenance and adjustments to ensure production processes continue smoothly and safely.

Rate of Pay

Up to £21 per hour (Dependent on experience) - enhanced rates for overtime (13 Weeks probationary period CIS / Umbrella).

Shifts

Monday to Thursday 8:00 - 16:30 & Friday 8:00 - 15:30.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out CNC operations according to instructions and documentation provided.
• Ensure compliance with policies, specifications, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.
• Check equipment functionality, record defects, and notify supervisor.
• Report defects to the Maintenance Department.
• Perform program, tooling, dimensional checks, and inspections as necessary.
• Maintain traceability throughout the machining process.
• Complete production records as work progresses.
• Maintain quality standards and inspect parts to drawings, making adjustments or tool changes as needed.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping.

Authorities, Interface, Reporting, and Supervision

• Line report to the Machine Supervisor.
• Liaise with Supervisors/Chargehands.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

• Work safely, taking reasonable care of own and others' health and safety.
• Follow all training and adhere to HSEQ policies.
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and defects.
• Maintain records and traceability.
• Wear and look after PPE/RPE.
• Participate in risk assessments and comply with controls.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
• Meet targets and complete jobs safely and tidily.
